Mackerel Scales and Mares' Tails
Book Launch Party
29 May 2015
Nottingham Writers' Studio

On Friday 29 May 2015, friends and family of the Notts Writing Group gathered at the Nottingham Writer’s Studio to help the group celebrate the publication of the second anthology of short fiction ‘Mackerel Scales and Mares’ Tails’.

The comperes for the evening were group members Simon Brown and Luíseadh Morgenstern. Live music was provided by Midnight Jasmine, and members of the group read excerpts from the book.

As well as launching the new book, the evening aimed to raise money for Framework, the leading homelessness charity in the East Midlands, who help more than 11,000 vulnerable people each year across the region.  To raise awareness of the organisation’s work, representatives from Framework had an information stall at the event, and were invited to speak about their work.  In addition to money raised on the night, the group has pledged profits from the sale of the book to the charity.

Notts Writing Group would like to thank the following people who helped to make this event possible:-

Readings on the night were as follows:-
